Waste Water Treatment Class III Operator    

 

Seeking WWTP Professional to service a population of 3,644; for the Town of Centerville. Responsibilities include managing the operations of a wastewater treatment plan to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Oversees; sampling and testing systems and the functionality of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment.  Stays abreast and compliant of all federal, state and local regulations and environmental guidelines.   Requires a Tennessee Class III License in Wastewater Treatment; with at least 3 years of experience. Familiar with a variety of field’s concepts, practices and procedures. Pretreatment experience would be a plus; candidate will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Report’s to the Town Mayor.  Due to current expansion of the facility, the candidate will have the opportunity to coordinate with the construction and engineering firm. Centerville Municipal Swimming Pool

 

 

The Town of Centerville is currently accepting applications for position of lifeguard. The applicant shall hold a current or valid Lifesaving certification or equivalent, preferred Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification. The candidate will have the ability to follow policies and procedures, evaluate situations and make decisions, communicate clearly, concisely, convincingly, while exercising life saving skills. The candidate will report to the pool manager, be dedicated to service with the ability to work a flexible schedule. Candidates will be required to take physical, drug screen; no felony convictions and/or disqualifying criminal histories. Fire Department
The fire department consists of a fire chief and 22 volunteer firefighters and is one of the most important institutions in Centerville. Anyone interested in joining the fire department can attend the weekly fire department exercises held every Monday night at  fire station #3.

The police department is in the lower level of the Town Hall. Twelve police officers and our Chief of Police ensure every day that there is law and order in Centerville.

Public Works and Maintenance Department:
The Road Construction and Maintenance Department under the direction of Danny Hudgins is responsible for maintaining all streets and utility services in Centerville. It has sixteen employees who make sure that the approx. 41miles of Town roads can continue to withstand storms, rain, the cold and the heat along with weekly sanitation pick up for the Town.
